Frances Decker Logan, 83, of Gainesville, entered into Heaven April 23, 2018 surrounded by family and friends as they sang her favorite hymns. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the House of Prayer with the Rev. Dennis King and Rev. James Fellers officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the House of Prayer Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Frances was born on August 16, 1934 in Lewisville to Alvin Decker and Vera (Graham) Decker. She graduated in 1952 from Lewisville High School. She married R.G. Logan, Jr. June 1, 1952 in Lake Dallas, TX.
Frances fulfilled her calling as a minister's wife from 1955-2013. Together they founded House of Prayer, pastoring there for fifty years, and also founded Gainesville Christian Academy. She was actively involved as a teacher in Gainesville Christian Academy from 1977-2010, always touching the lives she taught. She believed her calling was ministering to children. Considered by her congregation as the "Mother of the Church", she ministered to all, especially children. She taught Sunday School and was the Children Church leader many years, which was the "light of her life".
Frances Logan was a musician and gospel singer for many years. She sang almost fifty years every Sunday morning on the Gospel Jubilee Hour on KGAF from the House of Prayer. Besides her ministry in the church, she was involved in many charity organizations. They included: Cancer Society; Heart Association; St. Labre Indian School; Boys Town; Texas State Troopers Association; and The Police Officers Support Alliance. She was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her continued support of Vets First.
She is survived by her daughter Janis Thompson and her husband Steven of Justin; daughter Judy King and her husband Dennis of Gainesville; son Tim Logan and his wife Leah of Jasper, GA.; daughter-in-law Pamela Logan of Denton; grandchildren Rachel Logan, Timothy Logan, and Courtney Logan. great-grandchildren Collin Logan and Austin Lee Logan.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Rev. R.G. Logan, Jr.; son Ricky Logan; grandson Chris Logan; and her parents.
