Gary Lynn Holland

Gary Lynn Holland , 67 of Gainesville, TX went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 24, 2020.

Gary Lynn Holland was the son of Amos and Carol Holland.  He was born on January 11, 1953 in Ft. Worth, TX.  He was the eldest of 8 children.

He was preceded in death by both parents, sister Brenda Holland Raney, brothers David Holland and Bobby Ray Hughes, brother in-law Robert Wright, and nephew Samuel O’Dell Wright.

He was a true cowboy.  Gary loved to dance, play the guitar, and sing.  He also was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and swimming.  He has won several medals in the Special Olympics.  Most of all he loved his family and friends.  He never met a stranger.  To know Gary was to love Gary.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Raelynn Holland of Denton, TX sisters Debbie and Mike Smith of Gainesville, TX Charlotte and Jerry Freeman of Lake Worth, TX Mar-Linda Wright of Forestburg, TX brother Curtis and Lola Holland of Gainesville, TX and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by many loved cousins.

Honorary pallbearers; Curtis Holland, Danny Wright, David Wright, Stacey Holland, Daniel Holland, Jaden Braudaway, Mike Smith, Jody Smith, and Glen Braudaway.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on October 27, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral officiated by Reverend Mark Dodson at 11:00 A.M., located at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son funeral home in Gainesville, TX.
