Virginia “Ginger” Louise Latham
Virginia “Ginger” Louise Latham, 87, longtime resident of Gainesville, most recently of Lewisville, passed away January 9, 2023 in Lewisville.
Ginger was born July 5, 1935 in Gainesville. She graduated from Gainesville High School and married Alfred Earnest Latham on November 26, 1953. Mrs. Latham was totally devoted to God and her family – these were at the center of her life for its entirety. She was very close to her sisters and her door was always open to extended family. Mrs. Latham was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church and served on the Bereavement Committee. She loved the mountains, vacationing in Colorado, and Country and Bluegrass music.
Mrs. Latham was preceded in death by: husband of 58 years, Alfred Earnest Latham; mother Edna Pearl (Fox) Kitchens; son Michael Latham; and sisters Norma Price, Arlie Bell Flusche, Norene Blakely, and Zeddie Shuppert.
Survivors include: daughter Joaneta Cayce of Irving; son Marc Latham and wife Gina of Lewisville; son Kevin Latham and wife Desiree of Corinth; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Audra Harmon of Whitesboro; and brother-in-law Jimmy Latham and wife Melinda of Athens.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Strong officiating. Interment will follow at New Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12 at the funeral home.
