Glenda L. Carr, 83, of Gainesville, Texas passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, in Denton, Texas.

Glenda was born in Coesfield, Texas to Glenn Liedtke and Lucille (Tudor) Steele on October 20, 1939. She was raised in Gainesville, Texas, and attended Gainesville High School. Glenda married the love of her life, Tommy Carr in 1955, together they raised two daughters and two sons. Prior to retiring to Gainesville, Texas, she lived in Oklahoma.

She enjoyed reading, watching football, listening to music, and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents Glenn Liedtke, and Bill and Lucille Steele, and her husband Tommy Carr.

She leaves behind two daughters, Patti Reed of Gainesville, Texas; Vicki Pipes of Gainesville, Texas; two sons, Doug Carr of Gainesville, Texas; Tommy Carr and wife Holly of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Nine grandchildren, Tonya Townley and husband Jeremy of Severance, Colorado; Tracy Meador and husband Mack of Gainesville, Texas; Tammi Ford of Gainesville, Texas; Carla Ford of Gainesville, Texas; Joel Proctor and wife Kristi of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Kale Carr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Colt Carr of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Kaitlin Wilks of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Madison Vaughan of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Twelve great-grandchildren: Jase Townley, Bryce Townley, Sophie Townley, Crislyn Holman, Trinity Holman, Madalyn Ford, Mason Ford, Braedon Schneider, Karlee Dennis, Haylee Dennis, Eli Spottedhorse, and Jaxon Proctor. Two great-great-grandchildren: Leah Saucedo, and Rosalie Saucedo. Glenda is also survived by one sister, Joan Gray of Pittsburg, Oklahoma; two brothers, Ronnie Liedtke and wife Jan of Denton, Texas; Donnie Liedtke and wife Robyn of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; one brother-in-law, Rodger (Spunky) Carr and wife Jean of League City, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 12:30 PM.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.

In honoring Glenda’s wishes the family asks that all in attendance wear bright and cheerful attire.
