Glenda Goode Steed

Funeral services for Glenda Goode Steed, 62, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Chapel with Bro. Arthur Green officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  A visitation will be held Monday for 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Steed passed away at her home September 28, 2022.  She was born August 22, 1960, in Gainesville, to Glenn Edward and Mary Jean (Henderson) Goode.

Glenda worked at Walmart in Gainesville for over 20 years.  She was often recognized by her beautiful smile and exceptionally long hair.  If you knew Glenda, you knew how much she loved her kids and grandkids.  She was always taking her grandkids somewhere fun and when they were with her, it was “Nana’s rules.”  She loved that she was able to teach all of her grand-babies to ride a bike with no training wheels.  She loved being involved with her church and her church family.  She had a heart of gold and genuinely cared about others.

Mrs. Steed is survived by her daughter Rebecca Steed Schmitz and son-in-law Rusty of Gainesville; daughter Kelli Steed of Pilot Point; son Brad Steed and daughter-in-law Alicia; grandchildren:  Skylar Nottingham, Jaden Murrell, Lili Schmitz, Braden Wetmore, Ryleigh Steed, CJ Goodrich, Kinlee Steed, Blakley Steed, Easton Lambert, Dougan Schmitz, and Charli Steed; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Ophelia Coelho; brothers Darin Goode of Krum and Jay Goode of Sherman; sister Lisa Bloom and brother-in-law Ryan of Sanger.  She is also survived by Stephen Hermes and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Duane Goode.
