Gloria Hamilton

I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gloria Ruth Hamilton, age 73.  Gloria passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on 03.27.24 at Medical City Denton.

Gloria proudly served in the US Army till she retired to the Gainesville area with her family in 1995. After retirement she worked at the Gainesville State School, then as a security officer at Campbell’s Soup in Paris Tx.  In 2019 she returned to the Gainesville area where she resided with her daughter and son in law in Woodbine, Tx. Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always thinking about everyone she loved. She always had something to give you, you never walked away empty handed from a visit.

Gloria was preceded in death by her son David W. Hamilton Jr, mother Oleta McMahan, father Jollie McMahan, sister Corrine McMahan & David W Hamilton (husband of 27 Years).

Gloria was survived by her daughter, Dania Hamilton and son in law Ricky James, grandson Ian Simpson, grandson Nico Simpson and Masidon Simpson, and 5 great grandchildren Violet, Liam, Jace, Dameon, and Gage Simpson. Brothers Mike MaMahn, Don McMahan, and sisters Linda Greer, and Carolyn. Also, Cherrie Tingen whom she loved like family.

A private celebration of life will be held at Dye Mound Cemetery at a later date.
