Guanita “Nita” Reiter Boardman

August 27, 1937 — September 24, 2023

Nita Boardman, 86, most recently of Rockwall, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2023.

Nita was born August 27, 1937 in Bowie and grew up in Gainesville.  After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Dallas Baptist University, she had a prosperous career with the Environmental Protection Agency.  Nita eventually returned to Gainesville, where she was involved with several charitable endeavors and was a faithful member of Whaley United Methodist Church.  She later retired to Rockwall.

Survivors include: son Gary Reiter (Dottie) of Rowlett; son Gregg Reiter (Linda) of Oliver Springs, TN; grandchildren, twins Loran Reiter and Morgan Reiter, and Kelly Boyd; great-grandchildren Lacy Boyd and Késon Burton; twin sister Juanita Brooks of Gainesville; brother C.E. Sanford (Betty) of Nacogdoches; father of her children, Glen Reiter of Sun City, AZ; step-children Tenjey Wright, Johnny M. Boardman, and Ed Boardman; and seven step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boardman was preceded in death by: parents Clarence and Bertha (Martin) Sanford; husband Johnny Boardman; and brother-in-law Curtis Brooks.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
