Henry Douglas (H.D.) Gay

HENRY DOUGLAS (H.D.) GAY ,  89 , of Sadler , Texas  passed away December 31, 2024  at Medical City Denton in Denton , Texas . He was born on December 25, 1935  in Orr, Oklahoma  to Herbert Clevdon  and Mary Edith Etta  (Madewell) Gay .

Henry, better known as H.D. retired from National Supply in 1988. He was named after his two grandfathers; Henry Madewell and William Douglas Gay. H.D. was very devoted to his family and work. He would do absolutely anything for his family and loved spending time with them and playing games.

H.D. is survived by his daughters; Lorrie Aycox and Sherion Pope, son Jerry Gay, sister Doreen Romines, brother Roy Lee gay, sister Willa Faye Burton and sister- in- law Laura Cannaday, 6 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Troy Edward Gay, Loyd Gay and Herbert Lyman Gay, sisters; Ella May Thomason, Lorene Cleste Ballard and three baby brothers who passed away as infants.

The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas  on Monday, January 13, 2025  at 1:00 PM  with funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM.  Pastor Larry Kremling officiating. Interment to follow at Callisburg Cemetery if weather permits.
