Services for Helen Louise (Coffman) Bosley, 97, formerly of Gainesville, will begin with a visitation on Monday June 27, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral home. A graveside service for Helen will follow at 1:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. Then, a memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church with a reception at 3:00 PM.
Helen was born June 16, 1925, in Gainesville to Marvin Coffman and Evelyn (Owens) Coffman. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1942. On May 30, 1942, Miss Coffman married, in Gainesville, Cecil Guy Bosley whom she loved and adored for more than 76 years.
Guy was inducted into the U.S. Army July 11, 1942, becoming a Military Policeman, achieving the rank of Buck Sergeant ending his tour in the Philippines. Helen honorably supported the war effort through various employment. At some point it became obvious caregiving was her gift.
After the war Helen gave birth to a baby boy on Thanksgiving Day (not exactly the traditional turkey dinner). Guy began a career with the U.S. Post Office while Helen mastered all aspects of homemaking.
Eventually becoming an empty nester, her passion afforded her the opportunity to gain employment at the Gainesville Memorial Hospital. Helen and Guy continued their prospective careers until the decision was made to retire at the same time.
A stalwart of the First Christian Church, Mrs. Bosley served her Lord faithfully as a devoted Christian and proud member for more than 56 years. Although a near fatal car wreck nearly took her life in 1951 the sustained handicap never slowed her down. The Leopards, Rangers, Cowboys and Mavericks were some of her favorites. She was an avid T.V. watcher, excellent cook, enjoyed travel, mastered puzzles in the funny section of the Gainesville paper. However, this interest waned in comparison to her love for Her Lord, family and friends.
The family suggest any memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (866-232-8484 or www.alzfdn.org ).
