Henry Ronald Kessler

August 7, 1934 — September 8, 2022

Henry Ronald Kessler, 88, left this world and went to his Heavenly home on September 8, 2022 at 1:24 pm.  He was born in Adah, PA on August 7, 1934 to parents Harry G. and Anna (Cummins) Kessler.

Henry graduated from German Township High School in McClellandtown, PA in 1952.  He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954.  He married Millie Krahl on June 2, 1958.  They were married for 64 years.  Mr. Kessler served 20 years in the Air Force.  Some of the places he was stationed were Sampson AFB in New York for training, Scott AFB in Illinois, Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Ardmore AFB in Texas, Donald AFB in South Carolina, Sheppard AFB in Texas, Randolph AFB in Texas, then four years at Rhein-Main AFB in Germany, and then back to Sheppard AFB where he retired.

Mr. Kessler received his Associate Degree in 1977 at Cooke County College in Gainesville.  He worked as Manager of the very first McDonald's in Gainesville.  He did assembly work at Weber Aircraft, was a Machine Operator at National Supply, and Receiving Clerk at Wal-Mart before retirement.

Mr. Kessler is survived by his three children: daughter Peggy Roberts and son-in-law Michael Roberts of Tyler, TX, daughter Penny Cogburn and son-in-law Clint Cogburn of Lakeview, AR, and son Ronnie Kessler and daughter-in-law Sheila Kessler of Iola, KS.

Survivors also include: eight grandchildren: Sandy Hess and her husband Lambert, Adam Schreiber, Mark Schreiber, Kaci Cox and her husband Jake, Laura Bulak and her husband Kyle, and Ryan, Kimberly, and Aaron Kessler; and eight great-grandchildren: Henry, Sarah, and Curtis Hess, Keli and Landon Cox, Daniel and Anna Bulak, and Shanna Schreiber.

Mr. Kessler was preceded in death by: five sisters: Evelyn Markley, Janie Masters, Freda Kessler, Hilda Carp and Ruthie Rosnick; and two brothers: Eddie Kessler and Harry Lee Kessler.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Family Life Church in Gainesville.  Mr. Kessler’s remains will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, following private services.
