Ms. Martin passed away December 1, 2019 in Cooper, TX.

Hettie Joyce was born October 26, 1934 in Quail, TX to Haskell and Mary Anne (Winkler) Baggett.  She was raised in the Wellington/Quail area and was a certified nursing assistant until her retirement in 1996.  Ms. Martin’s proudest accomplishment was successfully raising six children.  She enjoyed camping, cooking, and canning, and was a skilled seamstress, often sewing, quilting, and embroidering in her leisure time.  Ms. Martin had a fine collection of dolls and bird houses, and was inseparable from her precious canine companion of 20 years, Mattie.  As family was very important to Ms. Martin, she admired her parents and considered her sisters her best friends.  Above all, she treasured the moments she spent with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  Ms. Martin frequently attended their sporting events, looked forward to family cookouts and fish fries, and especially adored the Christmas Holiday.

Survivors include: daughter Nancy Poindexter and husband Ben of Sallisaw, OK; son Dennis Pendergraft and wife Renee of Abernathy, TX; daughter Julie Parker of Weatherford, TX; daughter Mary Tackett and husband Howard of Sadler, TX; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister Mary Katherine “Pat” Tidrow of Idalou, TX; sister Anna Mae “Ann” McWilliams of Idalou, TX; nephew Farris Nation of Wellington, TX; and niece Renee Hensley and husband Brian of McKinney, TX.
