Imagene Brinkley, 86, of Gainesville, passed away February 25, 2024 in Gainesville.

Imagene was born April 20, 1937 in Durant, OK and married Jessie Herman Brinkley on August 6, 1954 in Cooke County, TX.  She was the consummate homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She was a cook at Head Start for many years and served in different positions over many years at Harvey Street Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member.

Survived by: daughter Lisa Lindenborn of Gainesville; grandchildren Christopher Smelley (Natalie), Rachel Scott, Ashley Scott, Jordan Scott, and Jessica Brinkley (Kolby Bullard); and brother Junior Thomison of Oklahoma.

Predeceased by: parents Clarence Wesley and Rachel (Davis) Thomison; son Bobby Dale Brinkley; daughter Debbie Dotson; daughter Karen Smelley; son-in-law Thomas Wayne Lindenborn; and several siblings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28 in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.  You may register your condolences online at www.geojcarroll.com.
