Funeral services for Jack Lindsay Leverett, 70, of Collinsville, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Jack Crockett and James Bridges officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, at the funeral home.
Mr. Leverett passed away October 30, 2020 in Collinsville.
Jack was born April 9, 1950 in Collinsville to Cecil and Virgie Lee (Jarmen) Leverett. He attended Callisburg schools and joined the U.S. Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school, serving in Vietnam. Mr. Leverett married Carol Moore on March 24, 1990 in Gainesville. He was a faithful member of Crosspoint Baptist Church. Affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandkids and extended grandkids, Mr. Leverett loved his family and church family deeply. He enjoyed riding horses, playing and singing music, and collecting treasures.
Survivors include: wife Carol Leverett of Collinsville; son Jamie Chance Leverett of Spicewood and his children Justin and Austin; son Derek Stobaugh and wife Kim of Rosston and their children Mason and James; sister-in-law Mary Houston of Whitesboro; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Leverett was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Bill Leverett; brother PeeWee Leverett; and brother Bob Leverett.
Serving as pallbearers are: Doug Martin, Craig Nybro, Randy Leverett, Jerry Leverett, Steve McAdoo, Doug Heffley, and Geoff Schaffer.
