Jackie Eaton

Jackie Dale Eaton, 79, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023 in Gainesville, Texas. Family and friend visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow.

Jackie was born on January 6, 1944 in Gainesville, Texas to Lee Roy and Lillie Eaton. He married Linda Eaton on October 9, 1992 in Gainesville, Texas and they were happily married for 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville. Jackie owned and operated Eaton Construction his entire adult life. Jackie thrived on being outdoors. He was always happiest when he could be on his backhoe or dump truck, especially helping others in a time of need. He was always willing to lend a hand. He was a fun-loving granddad, best known as Jackie Pa!

Jackie is survived by his wife, Linda Eaton of 30 years; two daughters and three grandchildren: Darla Knauf, Alex Knauf, Delana and Ron Mazdra, Sarah Mazdra and Leah Mazdra.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Fess; and his brother, Wayne Eaton.
