James A Fiske

Funeral services for James A Fiske, 75, of Gainesville, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Fiske passed away February 16, 2018 while hospitalized in Decatur.  He was born September 6, 1942 in Dallas, to John A and Wilma Lydell Adams Jones.

James loved spending time with his family, enjoyed life at Lake Kiowa, and his dog Benson held a special place in his heart.

James is survived by wife Frieda Cagle Fiske; daughter Sherri Vavra and husband Keith; daughter Tracy Burtt and husband Jay; daughter-in-law Kathy Collett and husband Gene; grandchildren:  Craig Jones and wife Tera; Mallory Bonds and wife Stacy; Bryan Jones and wife Merichelle; Drew Vavra; Jeremy Burtt and wife Makayla; Melodie Vavra and wife Vianey Iglesias; Chelsea Vavra and fiancé Bradley Seatherton; Joshua Vavra; Delaney Burtt; and many great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fiske was preceded in death by his son Samuel Jones-Fiske.
