Jan L. Hacker

A graveside service for Jan L. Hacker, 59, of Valley View, is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Valley View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 17 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hacker passed away July 5, 2019 in Gainesville.

Jan was born November 14, 1959 in Rockledge, FL.  She was raised in Lompoc, CA and graduated high school in Cupertino, CA, where she excelled in swimming and diving.  Jan then moved to Colorado where she started her family.  She ultimately moved to Valley View where she married Herbie Hacker in 1996.  A kind and generous spirit, Jan will be remembered for her cooking, caring of her pets, and how proud she was of her four children.

Survivors include: husband Herbie Hacker of Valley View; son Kris Bury of Valley View; daughter Kat Hacker of Gainesville; daughter Kym Bury of Klamath Falls, OR; son Anthony Hacker of Denton; one granddaughter; father Roman Avila of San Jose, CA; mother Betty Corcel and husband Dan of Carthage, MS; brother David L. Avila and wife Maria of Redding, CA; brother Ronald D. Avila of Reno, NV; and brother Tony Avila and wife Jennifer of Gainesville.
