Jerry Leroy Bennett

A graveside service for Jerry Leroy Bennett, 85, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.

Mr. Bennett passed away January 25, 2025, in Gainesville.  He was born July 24, 1939 in Marshfield, MO to Everett Raymond and Freda Marie (Hyder) Bennett.

Jerry enlisted into the US Air Force at the age of seventeen.  He spent nearly eight years serving in Roswell, NM.  He worked for Ford Motor Co. assembly line in Kansas City for a few years before moving to Texas and working in home construction.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Geneva (Hammer) Bennett.  They married in Brownfield on December 19. 1959.  He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Teresa Bennett of Marshfield, MO; sister and brother-in-law Charlene and Harold Adams of Marshfield, MO; sister Geraldine Bennett of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law Glenda Hammer of Gainesville.

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents and his sister Marlene Deckard.

Jerry was a smart, talented man and will be missed.
