Jerry "Monk" Bacon

Jerry Daniel Bacon, Jr., affectionately known as “Monk”, age 48, passed away April 25, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX.  Mr. Bacon was a longtime resident of Gainesville, TX but lived most recently in Fort Worth.

Jerry was born September 7, 1973 in Sherman, TX.  He attended schools in Gainesville and graduated high school in Callisburg.  Mr. Bacon was a construction superintendent in West Virginia.  He continued in this field and was known as a hardworking general contractor and professional painter.  Many homes in Gainesville grace his handywork.  Mr. Bacon loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed early morning bow hunts, fishing, and riding side-by-sides.  He will most be remembered as a loving father and friend.

Mr. Bacon was preceded in death by: father, Jerry Bacon, Sr.; and mother of his child, Sara Clements.

Survivors include: son, Austin Bacon of Billings, MT; daughter, Haleigh Bacon of Gainesville; son, Jacob Clements of Oklahoma City, OK; mother, Carolyn (Hunter) Vera of Lewisville; sister, Shona Moore of Lampasas; and brother, Shannon Bacon and wife, Nancy of Gainesville.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 P.M.
