Jesse was born to Jesse H. and Pearl Richeson on July 28, 1929 in Ryan, OK. He grew up on his family farm, where he developed into the wonderful man he became. Not long after graduation he joined the Armed Services during the Korean War. Jesse was a very patriotic man. After leaving service he found himself at First Baptist Church in Denton, TX, where he met the love of his life. They married soon after, literally a match made in heaven. They moved to Gainesville, TX, where they lay down roots and began their family. Together they built full lives and raised five children.
They were long time members of First Baptist Church in Gainesville. Jesse and Nan were avid nature lovers and traveled to many national parks where he loved to hike. After retiring he became a proficient wildlife and nature photographer, and also restored fossils he found while hiking. Jesse was a man of character, love, patience, and was so gracious and kind.
Although cancer and disease chiseled away at his health and his body withered over time, his faith never wavered. He loved God, his family, his friends at the VA home, and his country. His favorite part of any sporting event may have indeed been the playing of the national anthem.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, and his son-in-law Byron Taylor. He is survived by his children Sherryl Taylor, Jeff Richeson and wife Ronda, Ange Shenk and husband Lee, Les Richeson, and Pam Richeson, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
