Funeral services for Jimmie Edwina Ferguson, 85, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville with Pastor Maria Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Whaley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ferguson was called home by her Lord on February 26, 2021, at Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX. Jimmie was born on July 31, 1935, in Gober, Texas, to Tom and Pauline Summerlin. She was born third out of four girls. She married her high school sweetheart Floyd T. Ferguson on November 21, 1951, at First Baptist Church in Bonham, TX. Jimmie was only 16 years old and Floyd was 19 at the time they married. Jimmie worked mainly retail for Duke & Ayers and Ellen’s then worked for the City of Gainesville and later retired from Gainesville Daily Register.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters.
She is survived by her husband Floyd, of 69 years, and son David Ferguson and his wife Shelly; grandchildren Shawna and Chad Krueger, and Bradly Ferguson; great-grandchildren Carson, Isaac, and Elliott Ferguson, and Kaitlynn, Kayleb, and Kayleigh Krueger; brother-in-law Lloyd; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bradly Ferguson, Chad Krueger, Eddie Copelin, Phil Ferguson, Gary Hinkle, and Dave Stark.
