Jimmie “Lois” Singleton, 86, of Gainesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 14, 2024.
Lois was born in Gainesville on January 27, 1938 to James and Nellie Dennis. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School and spent many years as a housewife and raising her three children. She was an active member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Gainesville until her later years when she was physically unable to attend. She worked many years at Hunter’s Café, Denny’s, and later retired from Tom Thumb Bakery. She loved playing cards and games.
Mrs. Singleton is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Terry Johnson of Helena, AL; son and daughter-in-law Allen and Linda Bush of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Vicky and Jim Gates of Sadler. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jimmy, Steven, Susan, Beth, Sam; several great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister Joyce Budack Brinkley; brother Charles Dennis; husband Truman Brinkley; husband Bob Singleton; grandson Bryan Gates; grandson Tommy Messimer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice; and to give extra help to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in her name.
The family would like to express a special Thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice or the Noah’s ark Animal Shelter.
