Jimmy Frank Mosman

August 10, 1955 — July 6, 2021

Jimmy Frank Mosman, 65, of Lindsay/Moss Lake, lost his life to a courageous and hard-fought battle to AML Leukemia, he passed away peacefully July 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy was born August 10, 1955 in Gainesville to Leo John and Bernadine Cecilia (Sicking) Mosman.  He graduated from Gainesville High School in three years and received the Industrial Arts Award.  Mr. Mosman married Barbara Rohmer in Muenster on September 6, 1975.  Starting with his first truck at age 17, Mr. Mosman and his wife built a trucking company that he operated for 25 years.  He has always farmed and ranched, was a volunteer firefighter and EMT instructor for 12 years, and served with the Moss Lake Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, 15 of which as Chief.  He also served as President of the Cooke County Fire Fighters Association and served on the Gainesville Hospital Board.

Mr. Mosman was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  The only thing he enjoyed more than hard work was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved them all very, very much.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Mosman of Lindsay/Moss Lake; daughter, Jeanie Mosman Martin and husband, Joey of Gainesville; daughter, Lisa Mosman Reaves and husband, Jaret of Gainesville; son, John Mosman and wife, Amber of Moss Lake; grandchildren: Kenlea, Landon, Macey, Luke, and Logan; sister, Bernadette Lowe of Moore, OK; brother, Gary Mosman of Gainesville; brother, Ronald Mosman of Gainesville; brother, Gerald Mosman and wife, Glenda of Whitesboro; sister Monica Laux and husband, Bill of Lindsay; sister, Jeanette Maloney and husband, Tom of Whitesboro; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Rohmer of Muenster; sister-in-law, Betty Perkowski and husband, Alan of Plano; sister-in-law, Helen Whitecotton and husband, David of Montague; brother-in-law, Gene Rohmer and wife, Tammy of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Bowman and husband, Kenny of Prosper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Mosman was preceded in death by: parents, Leo and Bernadine Mosman; and father-in-law, Norbert Rohmer; niece Shanna Mosman Paske, and nephew Barry Pruitt.

A Rosary Service is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends after.  A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 12, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Moss Lake Volunteer Fire Department, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Home Hospice, or the Jimmy Mosman Benefit Account at First State Bank.

Serving as pallbearers are:  Jason Mosman, Jeffrey Mosman, Tanner Henry, Bobby Rohmer, Jonathan Rohmer, Travis Weatheread, Michael Whitecotton, and Thomas Whitecotton.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Jim Metzler, Ken Arterbury, Steve Gaylord, Michael Mosman, Kenneth Sicking, Rod Tyler, Gerald Mosman, Ronald Mosman, and the members of the Moss Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
