Jimmy G. Pierce went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2022. He was a long-time resident of Gainesville and Lindsay. At the age fo 79, he passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Jimmy’s memorial service will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held the hour before at the funeral home.
Mr. Pierce was born in October 30, 1942 to James Clyde and Jimmie Gertrude Pierce in Pruitt City, OK. He was a graduate of Fox High School. After a year of college, he enlisted into the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge and went on to finish his degree at Cooke County College.
Jimmy worked as a purchasing agent at National Supply, retiring after 25 years. In retirement he worked with Jack Borden, his best friend, doing carpentry work. He also worked at the Joe Walter Workshop with the MHMR of Cooke County. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved OU football.
Mr. Pierce is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Carolyn Pierce of Gainesville; daughter-in-law Ranessa, wife of the late Jimmy Lynn Pierce; sons Josh Pierce, Don Wyatt, and Chris Wyatt; grandchildren: Kinzee and Tyler Pierce, Kinleigh Pierce, Katie Wyatt, Matthew Ushery, Jacob Wyatt, CJ Wyatt, Rebekah Pierce, twins Joshua and Hailey Pierce; 15 great-grandchildren; older sister Janetta Binnicker, as well as many other beloved family members.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma, brothers Denton, Dick, and Norris Pierce; and earlier this year, his oldest son Jimmy Lynn Pierce.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke, Grayson, and Fannin Counties.
