Jimmy Dean Prescher, 72, of Valley View passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. He was born on October 23, 1947 in Modesto, California to Leo and Hilda (Sicking) Prescher.
Jimmy grew up in and graduated from Valley View. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army. He married Pauline Fleitman on July 10, 1971. He worked at the family dairy then went on to Peterbilt where he retired after 28 years. In the meantime, he continued farming at his family farm in Valley View.
Jimmy never met a stranger. He was known all around town because of his charismatic personality and generosity to others. He gave so much of himself to the local community as well as his country. He enjoyed his time on his tractor in the field cutting and bailing hay. Jimmy was also a dedicated football fanatic for his hometown and was remembered for his years running the chains on Friday night lights. He was a very dedicated member to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville and loved his time with his grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pauline Prescher of Valley View; sons and daughters-in-law: Jay and Kandice Prescher, Jeremy and Rachel Prescher, Joey and Jamie Prescher; daughter Julie Twiner and her significant other Joey Riley, all of Valley View. He is also survived by five grandsons: Scott, Tyler, Aaron, Jake, and Easton; four granddaughters: Adyson, Jocelyn, Jordyn, and Jaelyn; three great-grandkids: Guy, Lennon, and Theo. He is also survived by his brother Bonny Prescher of Gainesville and sisters Jeanie Serna of Valley View and Donna Bauer of San Saba.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jeffrey Prescher.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 5, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 5:00 PM with a visitation to follow at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
