Joe Shell

Funeral services for Joey Vern Shell, 65, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Duke Dowling officiating.  Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 20, at the funeral home.

Mr. Shell passed away November 14, 2020 in Denton.

Joe was born May 21, 1955, in Gainesville, TX to Boady and Nona (Bridgeman) Shell.  He married Angie Shell on July 13, 1977, in Gainesville.  Mr. Shell had owned and operated Shell Concrete since 1980.  He worked hard to see that his family was well cared for.  A generous and willing man, Mr. Shell loved his family, friends, and community fiercely and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Westerns and cherished the moments he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughter, Honey Shell Ing and husband, Kevin of Gainesville; son, Cody Shell and wife, Brandi of Gainesville; grandchildren: Baylie, Haylie, Cody Jr., and Kenzi; great-grandchildren: Angelina, Aiden, Mila, and Jett; mother, Nona Shell of Woodbine; brother, Leslie Shell of Woodbine; and sister, Missy Shell of Woodbine.

Mr. Shell was preceded in death by: wife, Angie Shell; father, Boady Shell; sister, Carol Shell; and sister, Tina Shell.
