Joseph Frank Hermes

A funeral Mass for Joseph Frank Hermes, 87, of Lindsay, is set for 10:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary with visitation to follow will be held at the funeral home Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

Joe was born March 6, 1931 in Lindsay to Clemens Hermes and Amelia (Rauschuber) Hermes. He passed away on March 21, 2018 in Denison.

Joe worked for the Associated Milk Producers in Muenster from 1953 until 1966. He then went to work at Valenite as a machinist until retirement. He enjoyed farming as his second full time job. In retirement, he loved playing dominoes with anyone who was willing, especially with all his friends at Stanford House.

He is survived by his wife of  62 years, Alice Hermes of Lindsay; daughter Sherry Betts and husband Rodney of Amarillo; daughter Kathy Hermes of Ruidoso, NM; daughter Della Hermes of Ruidoso, NM; daughter Joyce Hermes of McKinney; son Carl Hermes and wife Beny of Flower Mound; daughter Linda Nortman and husband Danny of Lindsay; son Glenn Hermes and wife Mary of Azle; grandchildren Geoffrey Betts and fiance' Emily, Elissa Allison and husband Tanyon, Abigail Betts, Jacob Betts, Nathan Betts, Elena Jaramillo, Nicholas Hermes, Christina Hermes, Amy Nortman, Katie Nortman, Amber McDonough and husband Joe, Tiffany Key and husband James; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Lou Schad, Elfrieda Hundt, Emilia Voth, Rita Corcoran, Angela Haverkamp and husband Frank, Bernice Strittmatter, Gilbert Hermes; and sister-in-law Wanda Hermes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Hundt; sister Anna Hermes; and twin brother Clem Hermes.

Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Betts, Jacob Betts, Nathan Betts, Nicholas Hermes, Scott Hermes, and Chris Hundt. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters.
