Joyce Lynn Hankins

Joyce Lynn Hankins, 86, of Gainesville passed away September 7, 2024 in Waxahachie, Texas.  Joyce was born October 25, 1937 in Kaufmann, Texas.  She married the love of her life, Charles "Hank" Hankins on May 17, 1957 in Ferris, Texas.

Mrs. Hankins was preceded in death by her husband Hank; parents Mr. and Mrs. Homer Clarence Cunningham Sr.; and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.  She is survived by; nieces (her girls) Glenda Stephen, Vicky McManus, Mildred Goss, Sherri Shguit; and an abundance of other beloved nieces and nephews.

Joyce worked many years in the banking industry.  She enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland and loved cruising open waters with many friends, she loved to paint, she was a member of the Red Hats, active in the book club and volunteered at Gainesville Hospital.  Mrs. Hankins was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends Monday September 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.  Services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas.  Burial to follow at Era Cemetery, Era, Texas.
