Joyce Vincent

December 22, 1936 — October 8, 2022

Services:

Alberta Joyce (Little) Vincent, 85, of Gainesville, TX, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022 at Pecan Tree Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Gainesville. The family has elected to hold a private memorial service.

History:

Joyce was born December 22, 1936 in Benkelman, NE to Author and Lela Little, the youngest of six children. She married Norman Leroy Vincent on August 30, 1953 in St. Francis, KS.

Joyce was a devoted homemaker, but also volunteered for Helping Hands of Faith, operated by the members of Faith Lutheran Church, which she had been an active member of for many years. Later in life, she was a member of Cooke County Cowboy Church. Joyce always loved to bake and garden, which took her back to her heritage in Nebraska. She was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and cookies that she would make around the Holidays for her friends and family to enjoy.

Mom never met a stranger. Once she got to know you well, she would treat you just like one of her own. Going to garage sales and socializing with people were one her favorite things to do. Mom never missed a sporting event we were involved in, always supporting us and cheering us on. She loved watching her favorite football teams, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to anyone she met, always lending support to other people and never thinking about herself. Mom’s zest for life and her will to live was impeccable in her last few months here on Earth.
