June Elizabeth Shockley

June Elizabeth (Stone) Shockley, 84, of Sanger, Texas, went to be with her Lord on the morning of July 4, 2021.

June was born the youngest child to Aulsey Milner and Mahala Elizabeth Stone in Wabbaseka, Arkansas on March 7, 1937.  On July 2, 1961 she married her beloved husband, Allen (Bud) Shockley in Benton, Arkansas.

She earned her teaching degree from Ouachita Baptist University in 1959 and was an elementary school teacher before she married.  She and Bud moved to Gainesville, Texas and lived there for many years before moving to Houston and back.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing a bridge game with friends, playing the piano and traveling to new places.

June is survived by her daughter, Cynthia McDaniel and husband Jim; daughter, Suzanne Russell and husband, Paul; daughter, Jennifer Coleman and husband, Ken; her grandchildren, Jeremy Gilbreath and wife Jennifer, Lauren Gilbreath Hamilton and wife Melissa, Corey McDaniel, Libbie Threatt and husband Kyle, Zachary Russell, Carson Russell, and Duncan Coleman; great-grandchildren Jenna and Jaylee Gilbreath, Benson Hamilton, Rylie, Noah Threatt and Cooper Threatt; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

June was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; and her 12 brothers and sisters.

A special thanks to Ann Dolan and J.C. Southard and team at Solaris Hospice that took special care of June in her final days.

A visitation is scheduled for July 10, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
