Kay Bruce

Funeral services for Shelia Kay Bruce, 64, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Charlie Pickett officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10 at the funeral home.

Ms. Bruce passed away April 6, 2019 in Denton.

Kay was born February 1, 1955 in Gainesville to William David and Lillie Irene (King) Bruce.  She loved playing Bingo and being in nature, often spending time on her front porch.  Ms. Bruce will be most remembered for her kind and loving spirit, and for being an incredible mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Survivors include: daughter LaDonna Bruce of Gainesville; daughter Kathryn Bruce and husband Jesus Rendon of Gainesville; daughter Amy Bruce of Fort Smith, AR; grandchildren: Lolee, Oktavien, Laine, Lena, and Starlynn; sister Carolyn May and husband Jim of Gainesville; sister Gayle Pruitt and husband David of Whitesboro; sister Linda Bentley and husband Ron Butler of Mt. Vernon; and loving friend Celso Gonzalez of Gainesville.

Ms. Bruce was preceded in death by: her parents, Bud and Lillie Bruce; sister Billie Sue (Bruce) Skinner; brother Wayne King; brother Howard Bruce; brother Jamie Bruce; brother Ronnie Bruce; sister Jo McKinnon; and brother-in-law Charlie Skinner.
