Kenneth Lee Boggs

Christian Burial for Kenneth Lee Boggs, age 77 of Myra, will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Reed Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Craig Boggs, A.J. Huckaby, Brandon Huckaby, Harold Sims, Adam Bayer and nephew Chad Williams.  Mr. Boggs passed away into the arms of Jesus unexpectedly on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Kenneth was born in Quanah, TX on February 17, 1944, to Bill and Jewel Boggs. Kenneth met his bride, Etta Marie Matthews through family and friends. The two of them started dating at the tender age of 15 years old in 1959. They got married on August 4, 1961 at Myra Baptist Church. Everyone always told them they were too young, but Etta’s mom Dorothy told her, if she graduated high school, then she would sign for them to get married at the age of 17. These two are a prime example of how a marriage should be like. The love and respect they had for one another didn’t go unnoticed. The two of them got to spend 62 years together and married for 60 of those years. Kenneth and Etta were each other's best friend and soul mates.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Etta Boggs; daughter, Shelley Boggs; daughter, Kim Huckaby & SIL James Huckaby; grandkids: Craig Boggs and Crystal, Kristin Sims and spouse Harold, A.J. Huckaby and spouse Adrianne, Megan Bayer and spouse Adam, and Brandon Huckaby and spouse Melissa. He also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Muller and Linda Kesterson; sister-in-law, Audra Boggs; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews that were a big part of his life.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jewel Boggs; sister, Dorothy Mosman; and brothers: Troy, Billy and Jesse Boggs.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to ABBA (All Babies Born Alive).
