Kenneth Wilson Kaden was born July 20, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Wilson Otto Kaden and Marjorie Meisner Kaden. He passed away on March 13, 2021 in Gainesville.
Kenneth married Mary Elizabeth Mitchell September 2, 1960 in Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gainesville, Texas.
Kenneth served the Gainesville community and had many interests. He served with the Army 49th Armored Division, served on both the Boy Scouts and the Camp Fire Girls boards, and umpired for little league baseball games. He served on the Gainesville Hospital board, the Gainesville City Council, then served as Mayor of Gainesville for two terms, and served as Elder for the First Presbyterian Church. He also taught Horticulture and Agronomy courses at our Junior College.
Kenneth was a Horticulturist and was widely known for his crops of beautiful poinsettias and vegetable plants. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1962 and returned with his wife, Mary, to his hometown of Gainesville to work in the family business of Kaden, the Florist. Kenneth came from a very rich heritage of Kaden’s, and lived a life that they surely would be proud of: a life of hard work and dedication.
