Kenneth Ray Triplett, 68, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1954 to parents, Kenneth Roe Triplett and Alta June Triplett. He was raised in Archer City, Texas where he played football and got into plenty of mischief. Kenneth spent many years working in the oilfield in Texas and Oklahoma. He also worked for 15 years at the Gainesville State School. Kenny was also a part time farmer who raised cattle, horses, pigs and chickens. He loved being out in the pasture and even trained horses for a small time. He retired from Select Energy Services in 2015. Kenny could outwork anyone using a 6-pound sledge hammer.
He met the love of his life, Tammy Ann Newcomb in Healdton, Oklahoma. Kenneth and Tammy were married December 1, 1978. They raised two children, Christopher Clayton and Monica Rae. They loved taking road trips together and giving each other a hard time.
Kenneth was also a beloved “Poppy” to five grandchildren: Megan, Ty, Linsey, Christopher and Jackson. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and working with his cows. He loved to be outside working on his land, building fences and taking care of his cats. He spent many hours researching the family genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, June Triplett and his father, Kenneth Triplett. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Triplett, by his son, Clayton Triplett and wife Kelli Triplett, and daughter Monica Grove. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Megan Grove, Ty Grove, Linsey Grove Christopher Triplett and Jackson Triplett. Also, his sisters Lynn-Anne Triplett Longoria and Sandy Triplett McMurtry; sister in law Tonsi Newcomb Bettis and husband Dennis
Kenneth will be missed greatly by his family. He was the best husband, father and Poppy that we could ask for and we are grateful for all the wonderful memories that we have with him. The only reason that he is not with us right now is because God has fences that need to be mended, fields that need to be hayed and sledgehammers that need to be swung.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. A visitation is scheduled form 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
