Kim Gerstberger

September 22, 1955 — December 14, 2023

Kimberly Jo Gerstberger, 68, of Gainesville, slipped into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Addison, Texas, on December 14, 2023. The only daughter of Donald Leon and Wilma Jean Neal, she was born on September 22, 1955, in Arkansas City, Kansas.  She and Jeff Gerstberger were married on November 11, 1978, in Leoti, Kansas.

After the family moved to Gainesville, they became members of the Friendship Church in Saint Jo.  A radiant child of God, Kim loved Jesus and was kind and humble.  Wise beyond her years, she always had the right words to say.  She was funny.  Knowing Kim, you knew you had met a new friend.  She loved having the kids and their friends congregate at the Gerstberger home, where she doted on all of them, and affectionately, they called her “Mom.”  Kim became “Mom” to her three sons-in-law, whose mothers had each gone to their heavenly home.

Those who will cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Jeff Gerstberger of Gainesville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kinzie Elizabeth Williams (Paul) and Jami Bruce (Nathan), both of Marietta, OK, Kallie Porter (Ronald) of Beebe, AR, and Jenna Gerstberger of Gainesville; one brother, Todd Neal of Salt Lake City, UT; mother-in-law Phyllis Gerstberger; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mikki and Joe Bob Jones of Gainesville.  Thirteen grandchildren also survive her.  Kim was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Kyce Neal, and one granddaughter Kasidy Williams.

A service to celebrate Kim’s life will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023, at George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Mrs. Gerstberger’s arrangements are with Coker Funeral Home in Sanger and George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.   Please share a memory or offer condolences to the Gerstberger Family at www.cokerfuneralhome.com or www.geojcarroll.com.
