Kimberly Dawn Sandmann of Valley View, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the age of 54. Kim was born on April 30, 1970 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Kim lived most of her life in Panama City, Florida, where she loved the beach and still has many friends in the area. She married Chad Sandmann on August 5, 2000. In 2006, having married a military husband, she left Florida for San Antonio, Texas. She continued doing a home daycare program as she was pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. She made each child feel loved and cared for as if they were her own. She created lifelong friends with the children’s parents that continued until her passing. In 2015, it was again time to move, this time to Eagle River, Alaska. As always, it was easy for Kim to settle in and make many friends. This is where Kim found her love for crafting. She was so truly talented at anything crafting. She could design and make anything she put her mind to. It was her passion. After her son Justin passed away suddenly in 2017, she got involved in grief share and suicide awareness programs. In 2020, Chad and Kim retired from active-duty military and moved back to Texas where they built their retirement home and Kim continued crafting, spoiling her grandchildren, and loved feeding the hummingbirds and giving the cattle treats. She also involved herself in grief share, LOSS team programs, and organized an annual suicide awareness walk in Lindsay, Texas every year.
She is survived by her loving family, husband Chad Thomas Sandmann and children Brandon, Ashley, and Logan Sandmann; grandchildren Brennan, Caleb, Zoie, Connor, Avery, Chad, Gianna, and Kobe; parents Arthur and Debbie Doucette, and siblings Arthur Doucette and Lori Snyder of Panama City, Florida; father and mother-in-law Leroy and Doris Sandmann; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws Corey and Shanique, Kyle and Liz, Kacey and Krystale and many nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and son Justin Sandmann. We can only imagine the many hugs and kisses that awaited her. Kim is dearly loved and will be missed by many.
