Lannie Lewis Brown, 81, of Valley View, passed away October 17, 2022 at Texoma Medical Center.
Lannie was born June 3, 1941 to Johnnie L. Brown and Mary Lee (Bentley) Brown in Gainesville. After high school he joined the military with the Army and served from 1963-1966 during the Vietnam Conflict with a discharge rank as a specialist 5.
Mr. Brown married Lois Ann Jones, April 18, 1968. He retired in late 2016 from Zodiak where he had been working the last 30 years as a maintenance mechanic. In his spare time his hobbies were woodworking, reading various books, and enjoying visits from his children and grandchildren.
Lannie was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie L. Brown, and mother, Mary Lee (Bentley) Brown, and wife Lois Ann Brown. He is survived by his sister Lanita Lewter; son Brian and Mendy Brown of Valley View; daughter Jennifer Thompson of Allen; son and daughter-in-law Charles and Norie Brown of Allen; son and daughter-in-law Shane and Kaylie Brown of Fate; daughter and son-in-law Andrea Voyles and Christian Maldonado of Marietta, OK; daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Walter Brasher of Valley View; daughter and son-in-law Aimee and David Stepanski of Thackerville, OK daughter and son-in-law Holli Brown and Sammy Sanchez of Marietta, OK; grandchildren: Daisey Brown, Braeleigh Brown, Jerry Thompson, Micah Medina, Matthew Medina, Noah Brown, Brooks Brown, Kynslie Brown, Eli Voyles, Lillian Brasher, Renesmee Stepanski, Fredrick Stepanski, and Zelda Sanchez.
A funeral service with military honors is scheduled for Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with family visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Services will be officiated by Danny Shaver. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brian Brown, Charles Brown, Walter Brasher, Christian Maldonado, Sammy Sanchez, David Stepanski. Honorary pallbearers are Gregory Hacker, Jerry Thompson, and Eli Voyles.
