Larry Wayne Smith, 64, of Gainesville, passed away October 2, 2024 in Gainesville.

Larry was born March 2, 1960 in Gainesville and resided there all his life.  He worked as a diesel mechanic at Groendyke Trucking, Allen Ritchey Enterprises, Dallas International Trucking, and Barthold Trucking.  At the time of his death, he worked at Joe Walter Lumber Company in Gainesville.

Survivors include: son Steven Adam Smith; daughter Miranda Dawn Smith; sister Elaine Hogan and husband Tom; sister B.J. Baggs; sister Sue Knight and husband Steven; sister Patsy Robertson; sister Janie Carr; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by: parents Albert L. and Jo Ann (Weatherly) Smith; brother Donald Boone; brother James Randall Boone; sister Mary Helen Franklin; brother David A. Smith; and brother-in-law Jerry Baggs.

At this time, arrangements for memorial services are pending with Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
