Gary L. Bush, 81, of Gainesville, TX, passed away January 18, 2025, in Dallas, TX.

Gary was born January 31, 1943, in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville schools.  He married Shelia Malinowsky in Gainesville on June 24, 1961.  Mr. Bush enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.  He earned many degrees while in the Navy including a Master’s of Computer Programming.  Following his military service, Mr. Bush taught computer science classes at North Central Texas College for 15 years.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and leather work.

Survived by: wife Shelia Bush of Gainesville; daughter Michelle Fuller and husband Eddie of Gainesville; son Gary Lew Bush, II (Speedy) of Gainesville; son Timothy Ray Bush and wife Sheila of Callisburg; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by: parents Carl and Ellen (Haney) Bush.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, at Fairview Cemetery (Pavilion), Gainesville.
