Lee Nora Simons

Funeral services for Lee Nora Simons, 95, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Simons passed away August 18, 2020 in Gainesville.

Lee was born June 11, 1925 near Banquete, TX.  After World War II, she moved to Corpus Christie and married Louis J. Simons.  Their children were born in Corpus Christie; Roger in 1953 and Jonathan in 1957.  The family moved to Gainesville in 1962.  Mrs. Simons was involved for many years with the local American Study Club, often serving as an officer.  She was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered countless hours helping others through the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include: son Jonathan Lee Simons and wife Connie of Gainesville; grandson Christopher Kendall and wife Andrea; great-grandchildren: Kayla, Brooke, and Jenna; and great-great-grandson Truit.

Mrs. Simons was preceded in death by: husband Louis J. Simons; her parents; son Roger Louis Simons; sister Marie Machen; and sister Eve Smith.
