Lillie Ruth Couch

Lillie Ruth Couch, 90, loving wife and Aunt, of Arlington, Texas, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lillie was born on December 18, 1927 in Arlington, Texas to Boyd and Lela Lawson.  She was a proud Arlington High School alumnus, class of 1945.  She graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in accounting in 1949.  Her accounting career started as an employee of Dickies and ended in the finance office of General Motors.  She married Earl “Gus” Couch Jr. on June 7, 1969.  They traveled the world together, and no adventure was too great.  They also enjoyed playing together in the Richardson Community band for many years.  Lillie was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington.  She sang in the choir and played the hand bells.

Mrs. Couch was preceded in death by parents, Lela and Boyd Lawson; husband, Gus Couch; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Joyce Lawson; and sister, Patsy Nation.

Survivors include: brother-in-law, David Nation; nieces: Lynn Neal and Susanna Tate; nephews: Douglas Lawson, John Nation, Hunter Nation, Richard Nation, Andy Nation, Bruce Nation; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Arlington.
