William Lincoln (Linc) Impastato, born February 25, 1994, in Bogota, Colombia, to David John and Sally Reed Impastato. He passed to his Heavenly Father on October 7, 2019, in Los Angeles, California.
Linc was 25 years old and had found and flourished in the teaching and writing fields during his short life. Linc exceled in both.
Linc attended and graduated from New York University (NYU) 2012-2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Writing and English.
He began his career with Writopia Labs in New York City where he taught writing workshops to children ages 6-18 years old. Additionally, he edited the organization’s newsletter.
In 2018, Lincoln moved to Los Angeles to begin his teaching career in earnest working for Americorps in their “City Year” Los Angeles program with gifted but often “at risk” high school students. Not only was Linc a natural and passionate teacher, he adored every minute he shared with these students. He believed every child is worth saving and this heart felt philosophy along with hard work made Linc a favorite with his students and co-workers as well. He was in his second year of teaching and loved to share student anecdotes with his family and friends.
Lincoln is survived by his mother, Sally Darlene Reed from Valley View, Texas; his father, David J. Impastato III and his step-mother Dr. Ania Komorowski of Sleepy Hollow, New York; his grandparents, William and Sally Gibson of Gainesville, Texas, and David J. Impastato Jr., and Nancy Barr Impastato of Alexandria, Virginia.
He was also the proud brother of his four sisters, Rachel Ann Impastato of Valley View, Texas, Eli Impastato, and Marie and Julia Komorowski of Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Linc is preceded by his Great Grandmother and Grandfather, Jane and David Impastato, Sr., his Great Grandmother Eula Maude Anderson.
