Linda Rose Colwell

Linda Colwell, much loved Mom and Nana, passed away at her residence in Gainesville surrounded by loved ones on January 8, 2024 at the age of 75.

Linda was born June 13, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Albert C. and Lorana (Kay) Lohbauer.  She moved to Gainesville in 1959 with her family when her dad was transferred with National Supply.  She attended Gainesville schools and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1966.  Soon after, she met and married Jerry Glenn Colwell, they settled in Gainesville and began their family.  They were married until Jerry's death on May 12, 1984.  Linda then devoted her life to continue raising their son and daughter.

Mrs. Colwell enjoyed crocheting, playing board games, cooking delicious meals for her family, watching game shows and spending time with her family, especially her grands and great-grands.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers (Albert, Jim, Walt, Dean and Tom) and 2 sisters (Barbara and Mary).

Mrs. Colwell is survived by her son Jerry and wife Shelia Colwell of Gainesville, daughter Tonya and husband Aaron of Aubrey, TX, grandchildren Lyndse (Jordan) Teague, Matthew (Kara) Colwell, Amberly Colwell, Tristan Surcouf, Tyler Surcouf, 4 great grandchildren and her sister Jacqueline Storer of Irving, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2pm at the Fairview Cemetery pavilion.  We encourage everyone attending to wear Linda's favorite color, purple.
