Linda Cross, 74, of Gainesville, TX, passed away October 22, 2024 at home with family.

Linda was born August 8, 1950 in Bowie, TX.  She was raised in Bowie and graduated from high school there.  Linda married Steve Cross on September 26, 1969 in Bowie, and the couple began their 55 years together.  After moving to Gainesville, Linda began her career with GNB, where she made many lifelong friends, and retired after 45 years of service.  Linda was an avid reader, enjoyed going to the movies, and eating at her favorite restaurants.  Linda and Steve enjoyed vacations and traveled throughout their marriage.  Over the last 12 years, they enjoyed many outings with friends and traveled with the Cooke County Cycle Club.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ollie Mae (Hogan) Webb; and grandson Austin Bland.

Survivors include: husband Steve Cross of Gainesville; daughter Stephanie Bland (husband Justin) of Celina, TX; grandson Campbell Bland; sister Janis “Jan” Couey (husband Ray) of Richmond, TX; and many cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024.  The family will receive friends, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Linda will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX.
