Linda Wilson Hackler

May 20, 1940 — June 29, 2024

A loving Mother, Grandmother and friend.

Linda Wilson Hackler, age 84, passed away peacefully in her home on June 29th 2024, surrounded by her family. She died from a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.

Linda Hackler was born on May 20th, 1940 in Gainesville, TX. She was the daughter of the late Michael O. & Mildred Wilson. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1958 and attended North Texas State University. She was married in 1966 to Richard “Hack” Hackler, who preceded her in death in 2009. They had two children, Amy and Diana, and they joyfully owned the local Texaco station on Grand and California for over 30 years.

Linda was very active in raising her children and grandchildren and attending their activities. She was a devoted Leopard fan and cheered for her alma mater and her family's teams. She loved to travel, read and play cards. She was a woman of faith and a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Gainesville. She was also an advocate of education and literacy and volunteered as a mentor to young women for many years.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge, where she served in many offices, including state president. She was a generous and compassionate person who always helped those in need. She was a loyal friend and a beloved member of the community.
