Linda Joyce Lynch

Funeral services for Linda Joyce Lynch, 79, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Langley officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 6 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lynch passed away November 30, 2018 in Denton.

Linda was born in Duncan, Oklahoma to Mary Blanche and M.O. Attebery.  She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas and attended North Texas State University, where she received a degree in Education, and later received a Master’s degree from Texas Women’s University.  At North Texas, she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.  Linda was employed by the Gainesville school district as an elementary school teacher for many years.  She especially loved teaching the 4th grade.  Linda enjoyed her widespread travels and had varied interests in history, creative arts, antiques, social clubs, and volunteer work.  She had a great sense of humor and found joy in almost every situation.

Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Lynch Sr.  She is survived by son Donald, of Anaheim, California; son Douglas and wife Tassia of Austin, Texas; sister Sue Cook and husband Jack of Dallas; nephews Chris Cook, Andy Cook, and Greg Cook and wife Jen and several great nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers are Chris, Andy, and Greg Cook.
