Rosary & visitation for Loreen will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Committal to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Loreen Catherine Neu, age 94, of Gainesville, Texas passed away in her home on October 10, 2024. She was born on December 15, 1929 in Gainesville, Texas to Edward and Theresia (Gieb) Heitzman .

Loreen grew up in Gainesville, Texas. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1947. Loreen was named Queen of the Gainesville Circus Round-up in 1947. After that, she married the love of her life, Paul Rufus Neu on February 3, 1948. Loreen was a devoted wife & mother. She worked at the Smokehouse BBQ in Lindsay, Texas for 30 years and retired from there at the age of 75. Loreen attended church at St. Mary’s in Gainesville for many years. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, The Texas Rangers, spending time with her beloved family and grandchildren, baking pies, and doing word search puzzles. Loreen was very loved and will be deeply missed.

Loreen is survived by her three sons, Paul Neu, Gainesville, Texas, James Neu (Melia), Gainesville, Texas, Stephen Neu, Gainesville, Texas, her sister, Barbara Davis (J.C.) of Arlington, Texas. Grandson, Michael Neu, Garland, Texas, Granddaughter, Teresa Kelley (Erik) of Gainesville, Texas and their three children; Gage, Reece, and Ryker and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, sister Betty Wolf and brother-in-law Lee Wolf, infant son Joseph, and daughter Janice.

Her nephews will be pallbearers.
