On Sept. 17, 2023, around 2 pm, Loyd Clifton Bewley of Sanger, Texas, was surrounded by his family and their love for him as he passed and went on his journey to meet the Lord.
Loyd’s life was all about his wife Janis Bewley, kids Jason Bewley & wife Rebekah, Janson Bewley & wife Krystal, Larisha Bewley Harris, and Dalana Bewley Huss and her husband Dr. Brian Huss, and 19 amazing grandkids and great grandchildren, who were the light of his life, including: Kelliney Harris & husband Shane with their children Kinsley & Payton; Karissa Gipson & husband Ryan with daughter Rynlee; Kellin Harris & children Kam and Braley; Jason & Rebekah’s children Zachariah, Jadon, Levi, Adalyn Kai, & Blakely; Janson & Krystal’s children Brooklyn, Lawson & Hadley June. Loyd cherished his sister Elaine Echols and her husband Elvin Echols, who was like a brother to him and who were both so special to him. They were always there for him in times of need until his last breath.
Loyd’s parents, Clifton & Loveta Bewley, preceded him in death and passed on their strong work ethic, generosity and sense of humor to their son.
Loyd is fondly remembered for his trademark mischievous smile as he made family members laugh with his clever antics and wit; even in the last hours of his life, he made us smile.
All of Loyd’s family loved him dearly and though there is a gaping void since his departure from this world, it is being filled by the love and happiness he shared, the smiles he gave and wonderful memories of loving times spent together. All of his kids and family are so grateful for the example Loyd left for them to follow as he lived his life for the Lord and instilled so many of his strong qualities in us, his offspring. As painful as it is losing him as our rock of strength, our pillar, we know we will all be okay because of the strength he passed to us, and we will always carry this strong, smart and loving man in our hearts to guide us in life and in our decision making. Thank you so much to God for allowing this wonderful man to be such a big part of all our lives.
Loyd prioritized God and then family above all. For employment, Loyd spent almost two decades working as a machinist at National Supply in Gainesville and at Peterbilt Motor Company in Denton. Loyd, 77 years old, was born in 1946 in Muenster and raised in Forestburg, Texas.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ, 400 Locust Street, in Sanger, Texas, on Saturday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. All friends and family are invited to attend to celebrate his life. Graveside service to follow at Valley View Cemetery.
