Luis Fernando Martinez-Perez

Luis Fernando Martinez Perez, 31, of Gainesville, passed away July 22, 2021 in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Luis was born January 27, 1990 in the state of Veracruz, Mexico.  He was the rock of his family and a very sociable person.  A true “family man”, Luis loved coaching his children’s soccer teams and participating in their activities.

Survivors include: wife, Veronica Martinez of Gainesville; daughter, Daliah, age 12; daughter, Eva, age 9; daughter, Victoria, age 7; son, Luis Jr., age 5; maternal great-grandmother, Felicitas Rodriguez of Mexico; maternal grandfather, Isaias Perez of Mexico; mother, Silvia Perez Olvera; father, Agustin Martinez; brother, Jose Martinez of Gainesville; sister, Yessenia Martinez of Gainesville; sister, Yesmine Peralta of Gainesville; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by: grandmother, Maximina “Chayo” Olvera; and maternal uncle, Isaias Perez Olvera.

A Rosary service is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, with visitation to follow.  A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
