Lula Mae LaPointe, 93, of Gainesville, TX, passed away November 3, 2022 in Gainesville.
Lula Mae was born July 2, 1929 in Morgan City, LA. She married Dudley LaPointe in 1947 and they moved to Gainesville in 1979. Mrs. LaPointe was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed raising her five children. She enjoyed quilting and tending her flower garden. Mrs. LaPointe was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. LaPointe was preceded in death by: husband Dudley LaPointe; daughter Sherry Elkurd LaPointe; parents Alcee and Talita (Vincent) Bourque; daughter-in-law Charlotte LaPointe; grandson Brandon Ratliff; great-grandson Bailey Gully; sisters Mayolla Racca and Joyce Miller; and brother Farris Bourque.
Survivors include: son Wayne LaPointe of Dayton, TX; daughter Loretta Bomsburger of Gainesville; son Michael LaPointe and wife Nancy of Las Vegas, NV; son Ron LaPointe and wife Patricia of Muenster, TX; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister Jeanette Leger and husband Elroy of Arlington, TX; sister Clara Davis of Baytown, TX; brother Lercy Bourque and wife Rosemary of Charleston, SC; and brother Elvin Bourque and wife Jeanette of Woodville, TX.
A Rosary prayer service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gainesville. A committal service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman.
