Manuel Medina

Manuel Medina-Collazo, 39, of Gainesville, passed away December 27, 2022 in Gainesville.

Manuel was born October 18, 1983 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico and graduated from Gainesville High School.  He married Dezirae Nelson in August of 2007 in Gainesville.  He was a supervisor in the oil field and treasured his time spent with family.  Manuel was a fan of the San Francisco ‘49ers and loved playing soccer.  He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Survivors include: wife Dezirae Medina of Gainesville; daughter Natalie Ortega of Moore, OK; son Kelvin Ortega of Gainesville; daughter Sofia Medina of Gainesville; daughter Izabella Medina of Gainesville; son Manuel Medina of Gainesville; parents Manuel and Esperanza Medina of Gainesville; brother Jesus Medina and wife Maria of Gainesville; sister Brenda Zayas and husband Ruben of Constance, CO; and brother Alan Medina of Gainesville.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 on Thursday, December 29 at the funeral home.
